A List of All the Ways
There’s a list inside my head of all the ways I’ve done you wrong.
There’s a list underneath my hands of all the ways I’ve hurt you.
There’s a list in my heart of all the ways I’ve failed you.
And there’s a list underneath your skin of every way I’ve betrayed you.
It’s a history, a life, a making, consequences of a demon.
The burn in my ribs is the kick from your pain.
The fire on my hands is the failure I am to you.
And I know there are scars across your skin
and they should be mine.
They should be mine.
There’s fire across your skin and I’m holding the lighter.
What am I, what am I, what am I without you.
I don’t understand.
Dunno where the kerosine came from, dunno where the spark is from.
Didn’t know I could do this kind of damage to you.
There’s a list inside my head of all the ways I’ve lit you up.
There’s a list underneath my hands of all the ways it’s fired back to me.
There’s a list in my heart of all the burns on your body.
There’s a list in, underneath your skin of every way I’ve betrayed you.
It’s family, it’s broken, it’s the bad of having me as yours.
