List of Can's

I made my mother proud by getting good grades,

I made my best friend smile for the first time after her break up,

I made my coworker's day by complimenting a new hair cut, and

I made my classmates laugh by telling a joke.

But no matter what I said

                     or what I did

                      or what I felt

I couldn't make you love me

and I couldn't make you stay.

(And that's not my fault,

  And that's okay).
