listen

what will it take for you to listen to me?

i don’t mean to nod your head and smile at my words,

i don’t mean to stuff pity down my throat,

i don’t mean to play table tennis back and forth of who had it worse.

what will it take for you to understand and hear my words?

that’s all i want. it’s all i need.

because my ears and heart are open for you but yours are closed off for me.

will it be too late? will it be too soon?

just listen
