Listen

This is a time of voices

A time of choices

We open our mouths

We make noises

It’s understandable

Everyone wants to be heard

It’s justifiable

Everyone wants the last word

But what if we spoke with no words?

Sometimes your ears speak louder than your mouth

They tell your neighbor he’s got worth

They keep conversations from going south

And let the world know henceforth

Hey, I’m listening

Ever wonder why the tongue has two barriers

And the ears have none?

Your ears are society repairers

Your mouth is a loaded gun

The world is full of voices

And it would be a shame to pick and choose

Don’t get me wrong, don’t believe every noise

But just remember you would want someone to Listen if it was you
