"Listen Sweetheart"

Listen sweetheart, there’s something I need to tell you

Because my heart beats for you, it’s true

Being with you is like pure bliss

You heal my open wounds with a kiss

And I wonder how you take my pain away

And I wonder why I haven’t had time to say

Those three words

To those baby blue eyes of yours

That are the color of a blue jay

I don’t possess a voice

Yet you gave me a choice

To either leave or stay

And you get me thinking about that song by K.Flay

Called “Time for you”

Even when I made you feel so blue

You never broke my heart

Or maybe you were afraid to see us part

But if you were to leave

I would try not to grieve

Instead, I would grab something sharp

And carve something like a harp

Into my own beating heart

And it would be my best work of art

Then I would begin to play a song

And wait until you came along

You would begin to dance

To the song of romance

Of you and I

Listen sweetheart, there’s something I need to say

So please don’t tell me to lock myself away

Because I can’t hold it in much longer

None of us are getting any younger

I made a vow

So I might as well say it now

I know these baby green eyes may not seem wise

They are similar to the color of skies

I just need you to…

Listen sweetheart.

Because I’m only going to say it once.

Those three words

(breathes heavily)

“I love you.”

I have always loved writing stories or poems about love. It's such a powerful word, and anyone in a relationship would do anything for the love of their lives, right? Anything. No matter what happens.
