The Listener

I may not know a lot

I may not have as complicated thoughts

Each idea tied to another

Because my ideas I mostly smother

But I like to listen to you

I may be one of the few

But I love to listen to what is going inside of your brain

Even if it's just a grain

I like read what you write

Even if you try to keep it out of my sight

I want to know how your brain works

And all of the things that in it lurks

I am aware that you do not care

About what I think and how I pair

Pair my thoughts with how you think

Care about if I sink

Maybe that is my downfall because I have always cared more

And I am for the most part a bore

I know that those who I wish will not read this

Because reading my work is not exactly a bliss

But I would like you to know that I listen, that I read, that I understand or at least try to

Because I like hearing you

I am sorry my response is never deep or well thought out

I am just unaware how to put my feelings and thoughts out

You say you wish to know who I am

But I am not sure if you want to know or if this is a scam

You want me to make my words into a verse

But I do not know if my words will make what we have worse

I am not exactly sure what to say, it's more of how I feel

Because my words, my feelings always steal

I hope that this might satisfy you

And not leave your mind askew

I hope that you just understand

That your words to me are solid land

They are consistent, a constant in my life

They keep me at peace when I am at strife

I will try to keep this short as a verse is all you asked for

So I suppose now I must close the door.
