A Little Bit of Sunshine

In this world, all I needed was

A little bit of sunshine in my gray life

And for once, that sunshine arrived

In business casual clothes

In the form of a teacher who changed me as a person

She planted hopeful seeds in my heart and soul

She taught be how to be a human being

She told me I should not be ashamed of my tears

She told me that I deserved to be whole

And when she told me she was leaving, I cried for her

I will miss her dearly, but

All I need is the knowledge that she will bring her sunshine elsewhere

And make others whole
