A Little Brighter

The musky, dull smell of the catacombs over powered my senses,

Filling my body with antagonizing pain,

That trails its way to my ribcage,

I stumble on the grit trying to focus on the light i have,

The Tabernacle is only steps away,

I feel the exisential of the shadows crawl around me,

They make a figure of a sea-monster on the wall

proving the insanity that mocks me

It's almost like a dream,

That rebounds itself back to life,

I sink my teeth in an apple

that tasted of rotten chocolate,

but

I tell myself I'm not lost,

I'm only a step away from a juxtaposition of reality,

The opiate reveals its ostentatious value,

and the light begins to shine a little brighter.
