Little Brother

You were young, but old enough

to remember it all.

Your eyes fillled with hope,

Ideal to take as their own.

They were mistaken to believe

you could stay away.

Soon running for the truth,

before your heart breaks.

The same blood, coursing in you

gives in to this pain.

Knowing this for yourself,

don't refuse to claim.

One day you will come back,

and the memories will lead.

Then the destination will finally,

be from the very beginning.

A lot of my former class mates from school, know me as the girl who got up in front of the class to read my poetry. Well back then, I had no idea how far I could go with them. But now I do. I used to feel like my poems were the only thing I could truly call my own and no one could ever take them from me. However, I have decided to share them with you all. I have realized the importance of these poems. Yes, my life hasn't been in the best, but writing has become my outlet. Some of these may seem strange, so if you have any questions let me know. I'm an open book. These poems are my life, my thoughts, and feelings, spoken. These poems represent who I am. Please enjoy :)
