Little Did I Know

I saw you one day, and couldn't look away

So soft and brown, were your eyes

Little did I know you told nothing but lies

Hello, was the the first word you said to me

But, your fist to my face was the last thing my swollen eye could see

Because I love you was your reason

Little did I know, your temper changed like seasons

Monday, I was your love and the only one for you

Tuesday, came around and my body became black and blue

Instaed of knowing this love was wrong

My love for you grew strong

I protected you like any lover would do

But instead you told me I was nothing to you

Because I love you was my reason for being around

Even though you always put me down

One day I woke up and looked at me

I saw a person I never thought I would be

A person who truly believed

Because I love you was a reason to be
