Little Family

Little hands and little toes

Still as if Time froze.

Softly wailing in the little room

Swaddled in a blanket blue

A baby boy in a mother’s arms

The father watches from afar.

He watches his son with teary eyes

Baby’s mouth open wide.

Baseball games and pop flies.

He once made a decision

To never stray from his vision

Of a happy family with his bride

He wrote in his vows “I love you,”

And what he says remains true.

But now there is one more to love

And teach him how to bear hug.

Father, Son, and Mother.

There is a love like no other.
