Little Girl
I met a little girl
Meek and fragile as can be
How beautiful her smile is
Oh just wait and see
She smiles to warm the broken
Because if you look in her eyes
You will notice her innocence
At some point had been compromised
I could tell that she was weary
She had little to say
She was too busy helping
The other wounded along the way
She thought that maybe
If she could ease their pain
Then maybe just maybe
Her own would not be in vain
No matter how hard the road
No matter if she's lost today
I heard her say I won't give up
Cuz God will help me find my way
So I dream of that day for her
When she finally sees light
As she helps guide the other wounded
And together they will fight
And it will be her beautiful smile
Despite her tainted soul
That will mend the broken hearted
And in turn will make her whole
I met a little girl
Meek and fragile as can be
It's hard to believe, I know
That that little girl is me
