A Little Girl's Future

 Little Girl Little Girl

Don't you understand

I'm merely a mirage of who you think I am

You've built up all these standards

That stretch a mile high

Because you refuse to go through life

Barely scraping by

A hero in a movie a diva I am not

But you've revised my image

With your imaginative gloss

I'm not something to take over

Or something to control

I'm my own tangled mess

Of body brain and soul

If I look into the mirror which girl will I find

The one with courage and control

Or the one who can't make up her mind

Little Girl Little Girl

We'll have to wait and see

If I turn into the woman

You hope for me to be
