Little Green Men

The little green men were your only companions.
The little green men were your only friends.
Even so you would look up with a smile and continue playing Army each day.

When the sun was setting and the moon was shown a new memory was about to be born.

I entered your room with excitment and joy then you yelled at me "No! You must first build a fort."

So I collected toys that would build me a castle and made a fort ten times bigger than yours.
It was huge, it was outstanding. It was my pride and joy.

I gathered my army and handled them as if they were toys but, they weren't to me they were more than that. They were your companions. They were your friends and now they were my loyal men.

The war began, the game was one.
Your soldiers fell and mine lay all across the yard.

By the end of the battle I was defeated, My fort was destroyed and lets not talk about where my soldiers should go.

It didnt matter to me that my little green men were destroyed.
When I looked up and saw your smile i knew that in some way or form I had won this battle.

Now I could clean our mess up with an amber smile.
