A Little Hope
At the beginning of a long journey
Stood a little boy with a little hope
Why was this happening to him
I wish I knew
Why did he have to be one of the few
He's gliding down the hall
In that little red wagon
Brightening the nurses day
They wish there was something they could say
To that little boy's father
Who smiles down at his son in pain
In the midst of a sunshiny day
That little boy kneels down to pray
Lord hear me cry
Please heal my father's heart
I will be just fine
Even though the cancer hurts mine
Thank you, lord for today
It is in your name I pray
Three years come and go
With tears and many fears
But he is still standing strong today
With faith nothing can change
The little boy is still that hope
That heals his father's hurt
How their faith still stands is impossible to know
All of the pain that was caused
Left a scar on the heart
Every needle and every scan
Is all he has ever known
Why did God choose him
The world may never know
But In the midst of a sunshiny day
That little boy kneels down to pray
Lord hear me cry
Please heal my father's heart
I will be just fine
Even though the cancer hurts mine
Thank you, lord for today
It is in your name I pray
The Lord heard his many prayers
And smiles down on his precious child
For the boy has touched the heart
Of all of those who know
One day soon the boy will be free
And live the normal life that was once just a dream
At the beginning of a long journey
Stood a little boy with a little hope
And then the day came
When he knelt down and prayed
Thank you lord for healing my hurt
Thank you for taking me this far
Today I walk away from the tears and the fears
With my father by my side
Thank you for this day
It is in your name I pray
At the end of a long journey
A little boy with a little hope
became one of the few to make it through
