A Little Lesson

Sit down if you please
For i have a little something to share
Take from it what you will
But a lesson is what it be
That for me took way to long to see
And i nearly destroyed myself realizing it
So just sit back and let me recite what i have to say
Never let someone in if they mean you harm
Not even if you have the slightest doubt about them
If you doubt there intentions, Your heart says no to them
Listen to it, heed its warnings
For if you let those people in
All they will do is share there problems with you
Expecting you to fix them, But doing nothing for you
You know they wont help you
Not if they mean you ill
They will drop their problems off on you
Those adding to what you already have
And that will only succeed in cracking the glass
That is your sanity, It will crack and chip in ways...
In ways that will be hard to fix
Trust me, I spent so long trying to fix mine
For my sanity had broken
By someone who had been in my life
For that i repaid by kicking them out but enough of that
My point is to not see those people through to you inner sanctuary
To block them off before they do their damage
Because they wont be there to help
When you feel all is lost
They will leave you standing there, broken
Take what you will
I only mean to help and tell the truth
For i have been there
And it is not pleasant
