Little by Little
Why do you run?
Why do you hide?
What are the secrets you're holding inside?
I'm trying to help you,
To make you see
That life could be different, just give us the key.
Open your eyes.
The world's passing you by.
You can't see it because you're trapped in this lie.
It's sucking you in
and making you sweat.
Why can't it be like when we first met?
You were confident and cool,
Not afraid to be bold.
But now you're sinking into your old mold.
We're trying to help,
but you won't let us in.
By being so defensive you will never win.
You're running and hiding
and breaking our hearts.
You're tearing yourself into so many parts.
But as hard as we try,
we might never get in.
Good thing the only One who can will win.
He's already there,
waiting inside.
He's not going anywhere, from Him you can't hide.
He's working through slowly
and one day we'll see
The wonderful man He's made you to be.
Nobody's perfect
and everyone fails.
And when life starts to get rough, everyone bails.
But have faith and believe,
things will get better.
When the rain is still pouring, things can't get any wetter.
But the clouds will soon leave,
and the sun will come out.
And you'll finally know what this world is about.
We love you enough
To never give up.
The One who restores will keep filling your cup.
Please don't be bitter
or angry inside.
We're going along with you on this roller coaster ride.
We love you and want you
To be who you are.
That's why we're continually raising the bar.
Have faith and believe
I'm not very far
But know Jesus is closer and knows where you are.
Little by little
You're breaking your mold.
The sun's coming out, and it's not so cold.
