Little Man

I can still feel your little arms

Wrapped around my neck

With your face hidden
Every time you were sick.
I remember your laugh
Whenever we danced in the living room
I loved you to the moon and back
You held my hand
Whenever we went anywhere
And would fall asleep in my car
On the way home
You were my little piece of heaven
Until hell decided to tear us apart.
You were three and I was seventeen
You weren't mine
Not biologically
But the woman who was
Had some other things to do.
Now you look right through me
And Don't know my name.
Your eyes are still a piercing blue
But they're just not the same
Keep your innocence
As long as you can
Because always and forever
You're my Little Man
