The Little Panda

There once was a panda all black and white who fell asleep alone at night.

Every morning his mom would come into his room and say, “Wake up my little baby, it’s time to groom.”

And the little panda got up in a flash ready to eat his little eroded bamboo staff.

“Whoa, slow down, you can’t eat just yet first you must put on your crown,” she said with a sweet voice.

And the little panda sat down and let his mother put on his crown.

He couldn’t sit still, “Hurry up mom,” he said. “It’s almost time for me to be thrilled,”

“I know you’re ready but first you must be steady,” his mom said softly.

So the little panda stayed still for quite some time until he said, “I can’t wait to see what’s mine.”

His mother spoke softly, “I know you’re excited and I can see why but first you must close your eyes.”

With anticipation he couldn’t stop moving for what I saw wasn’t the saddest, but the happiest little panda I’ve ever seen.

His happiness couldn’t be bigger in that moment, which couldn’t be said, but his joy was widespread.

For there wasn’t much time for sadness and sorrow,

Which it couldn’t be bigger than a little sparrow.

“I wish everything I look at could be mine,” the panda said.

With his eyes closed, the little panda thought with his mind of what he wants, that of a certain kind of toy, which he saw at the mall.

“This is very crucial, for you must listen to what I say,” his mother said.

“Okay,” says the panda.

“I’m going to count to three and when I do, don’t say wee,”

“One, Two, Three!” she yells.

Faster than the speed of light the little panda runs in delight.

He sees the colorful boxes and rips the paper right off them.

“Happy Birthday!” his family yells, “It’s your day!”

“This is so great,” the panda says,

“Since I’m finally turning eight!”

It's more like a children's book.
