A Little Princess

As a child, I longed to be a princess I loved Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid I had dreams about this all Of my life and yearned for it For my birthdays and Christmas I received figurines, pajamas, And dolls of my favorite princesses Playing with them non-stop, And wearing my pajamas every night After a while, I grew out of that phase I moved on but never left the memories behind When I was sad I would look at them I would get them out I would just stare As I looked, I saw a piece of me And I wasn't so sad anymore
