Little Red Cloak

Once Upon a little red cloak

There was a little girl

Her face was fair

Her eyes were bright

Her smile sweet as candy

But the village could not tell you this

For these things they did not see

For her little red hood

Was always up

And covered her pretty face

The day she went to visit her grandmother

Was such a fateful day

Her feet stepped lightly through the woods

Her senses were alert

Until she gazed upon her hand

And saw it covered in fur

The moon was bright

High in the sky

And to her dismay

It was full and the glow

Like an angel's halo

Washed her humanity away

Her grandmother never heard the door

Never saw what was to come

Until it was too late

And on that night

To death did she succumb

And as dawn broke upon the hill

Little red lifted her hood

And her canine ears and golden eyes

Told how granny was gone for good
