A Little Thing Called Life

My parents won’t stop fighting I am lost in a world of strife Home becomes less and less inviting I have to watch as my Dad slowly looses his wife Then I remember, it is all a little thing called life The sorrow hits me harder than a freight train As I am told my dear friend has left the world never to return All because he felt as if killing himself would take away the pain I am left waiting for things to take a good turn Then I remember, it is a little thing called life One chapter ends while another one begins The caps are thrown in the air only to silently hit the ground High school is over and all reminisce on the defeats and wins The feeling is bitter-sweet so some smiled while some frowned Then I remember, it is a little thing called life Now only the future lies ahead It looks scary and intimidating, as it is unknown and uncharted land I feel the urge to give thanks and partake in the breaking of some bread For each day is a gift and should not slip away like the grains of sand in one's hand Then I remember, it is a little thing called life Where each day is a blessing And each event is a lesson So don’t sit around and watch life pass you by Get up and seize day My apologies if this all sounds a little cliché
