The Little Things
It's been two years
One month
And five days
Since I last saw my dad, alive
And my mind has begun to forget the little things
Without my premission
Just the other day, I forgot how his voice sounded
Because they shut off his voicemail a while ago
A while before that, I forgot his laugh
When I surrendered my own
The thing that hurts the most though
That was when I forgot the feeling of his arms wrapped around me
The only arms that hugged me in ernest
The only arms that engulfed me in love
And the only arms that could make me feel better
It kills me just to live a day without him
It's not even living, it's merely existing
No matter its name, I've survived seven hundred sixty five days of it
And I will always hope for one more day
