the little things

im happy

its almost always been that way

except for that one time

and that other time

but

it turned out alright.

peeling oranges

dusting shelves

popping knuckles

popping popcorn

popping pimples

popping in to say hello

popsicles

poptarts

pop quizzes

they’re all things that

make me

smile.

except for the quiz one.

that was a lie.

i fooled you.

its okay

ive been fooled too

here

and

there

and there

but it turns out

those who fooled me

were actually

the fools

they taught me lessons

they helped me grow

even though

im only 5”1
