To Live
I write to live. I write when the world forgets I am a person with feelings and emotions and therefore I can bleed. I write to cover up the wounds that appear when people say hurtful words, intentional or not. I write so I can forget those words that can come back to haunt me at a moment's notice. I write to breathe. When the world is closing in and there are expectations and requirements that you must meet and the air is scarce, I write to feel blessed oxygen enter these lungs and my heart expand instead of constrict. I write to remember who I am and what I felt so I do not lose touch with my innocence and my ideals, so I can remember what pushed and drove me to be better and feel better. I write to explore. I can create my own world where everything happens for a purpose and the good one always wins at the end of the day. I write to believe in the goodness of the world and of myself, of life's purpose and mine. I write to begin again. When I feel as if I have hit the most infinite of deadends, when I feel as though I have made innumerable mistakes, I write to believe that I can begin again. When I feel as though it is the end and there is no way up out above below, I write to feel escape. I can escape from the world and even myself. I write to live. It is my way of enjoying what I am who I am and the world around me and to remember all that was and will ever be and all that could possible have ever been. This is why I write.
