Live Free or Die

The thing I love most in this absurd little world 

      is no one person or object or song that i've heard 

or feeling or gem life lesson ive learned but the 

     freedom to express all of that with my words and 

   I'm not saying life is perfect with all this struggle and strife that exists 

But here in my country I can freely move my lips or fingertips 

and express these opinions that weigh down on my mind 

yet there's places where independence is considered a crime now tell me, 

is there anywhere else you'd rather be? 

and tell me, are you who you chose to be? 

I know i'm free because i'm typing the thoughts that enter into my own head and 

knowing for that simple action I won't end up dead and you can say  

that you appreciate it and sign it all in red but in the end would you live the motto, 

"Liberty or Death" like Patrick Henry said? 

You wouldn't, 

but that's okay I know you're not the only one 

but while complaining in class just know that there's sons

watching fathers come home bloody fighting rules stating 

little girls can't attend elementary schools and 

I could talk all about what freedom means to me, 

the freedom to learn or to eat what I want to eat but 

when I think of freedom I think of those fighting and dying to see 

their kids be able to express themselves and be who they want to be. 

So, life is difficult and life is quick 

life starts and ends once and that's it, 

and thus life's greatest tragedy is lacking the freedom to sit 

and write your own story rather than live one that's pre-picked.
