To Live Silently
Day by day, I live alone.
Surrounded by loved ones
who listen to me naught.
I live by the written word
for I know it hears me.
Day by day, I lose more of my mind.
Thoughtlessly wandering
in the depths of my thoughts.
Some that I deeply fear.
Without this release
I stand with myself,
surviving alone.
To live silently is to not live at all
I strive to be heard, though never adored.
I want to be free.
To speak without fear.
My country fears me.
And so do I.
