Live for them

My life is a series of tasks,

Some are for me and some are for them.

Every once in a while someone asks,

"Don't you ever get tired every now and again?

Having to do these things for others

For absolutely nothing at all?"

And I just look at them and wonder if their mothers'

Ever taught them anything at all.

Your life is meant for the ones you love

And not for your whims and ways.

No, it's meant for the ones who go above

And ensure you're happy throughout your days.

At least that's what I live for,

I live for them.

What do you live for?

Could you tell me, my friend?
