Live For Today

Today is a day to rejoice.

Today is a day of celebration.

Today is a day of independence.

So was yesterday,

And so is tomorrow.

Every day is a day of celebration,

A day of happiness,

A day of commitment.

But today is a different day,

Today is the day we jump out of the nest.

Today is the day we spread our wings.

Today is the day we soar above the clouds.

We have been trained our whole life,

Getting ready to take that step,

That one step,

That one step into the real world,

That one step into discovery,

That one step into a world that we shape.

Today we step into the future,

We are the future.

We learn that we are the ones that make the difference.

We are the ones that create the past.

We are the ones that people look up to.

We create the future,

The future does not create us.

Today is the day we finally open our eyes,

Open our eyes into the past,

Looking back at how many times we fell out of that nest.

Looking back at the difficult journey we made back up.

Today is a day to be cherished,

To be remembered.

This day only comes once in a life time,

Where we are celebrated for what we have done.

Today people forget about our mistakes,

Today people cherish our accomplishments.

This is a day that we can be proud.

This is a day that we have to be proud.

We all came from different paths,

But we all ended here,

Where we can celebrate together,

Celebrate ourselves and our accomplishments.

Although our paths ended together,

Our journeys start separately.

We have come together to split up.

But we will all be holding that endless rope.

That rope that will remind us we are all in the same world.

The world that was built for us.
