"To Live Would Be An Awfully Big Adventure"

Feed my ego

Nurse my pride

Till I say my last goodbye

Off to a life of eternal bliss

Think of all the fun I’ll miss

To win is to lie, to sin, to cheat

You start to breathe your own deceit

But then he changed my dark, distorted view

To light so I can start my life anew

He turns this heart of lifeless blue

Into dreams and passion and the truth

He said love freely, completely

But the feeling makes me so uneasy

For the needy turns to greedy

And trust becomes an accessory

Because of a memory, not forgotten nor forgiven

A heart broken, and hurt kept well hidden

A place where emotion is strictly forbidden

Lies a lesson left unwritten

Misery, worry, selfishness and grief

Suffer all this—till death’s last kiss

But “life is short” does exist

Makes you think what have I missed?

And what should happy life consist?

Laughter, joy, peace: an ongoing list

But bloodless girl, pick up your smile,

Stay on this paradise for a while

Yes, it can be unkind, bitter, hostile

But I promise you. Life’s worthwhile.
