Lives to live

I was 9 months old

when I achieved my first memorable milestone.

What would make me who I am today.

My dad left and my mom become a single mother.

I was 3 years old when the next one occured,

she remarried to give me and her a better life.

A month after I turned 4 I became a sibling,

unbeknowst to me that I was already a sibling.

Adults tend to not tell a child about their father having two other kids.

Two years after that my mom had my other brother,

and 6 months after that my dad and step mom had my little sister.

She is the light of my life. I hate to admit that I sometimes despise her.

The bond she has with my dad that I never had and never will have.

But yet she is stronger than anybody I know, she suffered a divorce when she was

old enough to know what was going on.

That's more than I can say.

Ten years later I had my first heart break to a boy who I thought loved me.

A month later I experienced the worst night of my life.

I constantly wish it never happened, that I was never around him, that I left when I

knew something wasn't right.

A year later, it was still hard to get past that, and my best friend couldn't give me

hugs without me breaking down and crying. And a boy came along who promised

me the world. Three months after that he told me it was a lie. He never really loved

me, and I realized I was young naive. But thanks to him not even a month later

I met the person who makes the darkest days feel light.

Who helped me get through my heart break and managed to get food back in me

when the idea of food repulsed me.

But in August I lost my best friend, and nothing in the world prepared me for that.

She was one of the best things that ever happened to me, and I guess we just weren't

the same people we were whenever our friendship started.

But after 18 years of living this life and the many lives that I've lived within it,

I'm ready for what gets thrown at me.
