Living In Chicago Poem
Im From Chicago you ain’t safe on no block
Hesitating Whether or not you locked the locks
Where Having Fear In Your Heart when walking is normal
But In Reality You Feel Awful
Sick And Tired,Of being sick and tired
Worrying About If Any bullets going to go flying
Having to travel in crowds
Because traveling individually
You can go ghost like clouds
It’s Crazy What This World Is Coming Too
You Can’t Even Trust The Ones Around You
That’s Why You Have To Stay To Yourself
Even if you feel you have to help oneself
Prayers,God, And safety are words I Repeat Daily
So those words stick with me making sure I make places safely
I Know God Got me through whatever, whenever
So I Keep My Head Up when passing whomever
I Keep Self Confidence In these streets
But Somehow those words “ Prayers,God And Safety” Repeats
In My Head Like A Beat
I Stay Safe For Myself And For My Family
So They Won’t Have To Go Through Insanity
It’s Crazy You Have To wish a peer before leaving them a
“ keep your head up be safe “
Because I’m Reality these streets
Aren’t safe and don’t love nobody
They would take one of your members
And have you dropping a tear
