Living, Surviving, or Dying

I long to feel something, make myself yield to something
My desires are long overdue
My desires, unfulfilled, manifest in bouts of discontentment and irritability
Along those lines they add in some instability
Scratching at the surface they try to escape
My desires, I cant let them
They don't fit in
They want to win, and are fighting for the trophy again
And I notice I am rooting for the wrong team
They are starting to fade into the American dream
No
They mustn't go away, the only thing keeping me sane.
You can only neglect your desires for so long before they are gone
Have I neglected mine for much too long
They are fading
Fading
Fading
Gone
