Living War
I've always felt insecure about this
But it's a part of who I am.
It's bot necessarily a good part,
But a part of me with importance.
I am anorexic -
I have been for almost three years.
I didn't like the way I looked
And I wanted to change
I starved myself for over a year.
I lost weight,
But I also lost my pride
And I felt worse in the end
I stopped starving
And started eating healthier.
I won that battle,
But the war still rages on
I feel insecure about it
But only because I don't feel like I can tell anyone.
When I tell people they feel like their obligation to help me,
But little do they know that I'm the only one who can help
I hate when people think anorexia is due to a lack of self confidence.
I'm very confident
And I know that I'm a beautiful person -
I'm just not satisfied
I don't know if I'll ever be satisfied with the way I look,
Or If anorexia will be my life-long disease.
All I know is that I have hope
That one day I won't be a living war
