ll moon's veil ll

she was the bright moon, dynamic but silent as she illuminated the night skies, winds violent.

they were a pack of wolves, vociferous, howling at the moon in a roaring chorus.

voices full of power, howl after howl, the ringing in the air only growing louder.

braided with modesty, the moon dropped her veil, hiding herself from the world’s impurity.

her heart bursting with love and with so much to give, said not a word and instead continued to live.

she never once cursed a fall, being so strong, but instead always answered the midnight calls.

never asking for anything in return, never once questioned why, the moon continued to gracefully burn. -

never being one to boast, always remembering to stay humble, she was a shining halo in a world of ghosts.

and so every night when the wolves felt alive, and the moon came out, she tightened her veil and remembered humility is pride.
