Locked In

Sometimes I wish I could move far away

So why do I want to leave when my feet plant their stay?

Why can't my heart and mind just agree at the same time?

Why can't I be selfish instead of responsible for a problem that isn't mine?

Because when one door closed on me, another door opened wide

But I waited too long for it, and now it's shut tight

I try to find other doors, but truthfully I don't have the keys

I wish I could go through them too, but it's so hard for me to leave.

I mean, not just mentally, cause I'm ready and I also need the dough

I'm scared I might fall, I'm scared that no one will know.

My time here has been nothing but meaningless

I tried to find something beautiful and it all turned to madness.

I finally found a shiny rock to call my own

But it wasn't enough to open another door.

I'm thankful for that rock because it makes this room seem brighter

But I wish I had the keys, so I could burn bright like a lighter.
