Locked Away
I tremble and shake
Ohh god my back aches
Restless days sleepless nights
With only my fear by my side
For my dreams are plagued
I am stuck in a room
With only a mirror for
My eyes to consume
I look up and the glass breaks
My hearts beating faster
And at some point it just stops
For behind the mirror
Are the kids
Filled with hate
They tease and mock
Calling me names
I see a younger me so afraid
I run and I run never getting far enough
Their voices fill my head
I lie on my back and all I see
Is one singular star
I stare for awhile and soon it
Disappeared but in its place
A little girl appears
A beautiful girl getting mocked and teased
And I soon realize she’s me
I look at the mirror and kids
No longer are there
I look in my eyes
And I see a lonely girl
Who never learned
How to let anyone in
Because she locked herself away
Along with her pain
