Locked Behind an Open Door
Locked behind this open door,
That expression of anger, I can stand no more.
Those eyes that impetuously spear through me,
It is all despise I can see.
Behind this open door I stand free,
Only as "free" as you let me be.
It is your words that create the metal on this lock
Counting down the days, I stare at the clock
Behind this door I stand tall
Only after getting back up once you make me fall
Behind the open door sits a vacant room
The screaming silence fill this perilous tomb
I can no longer fight this battle that I have created.
I lie here outflanked, weak, and enervated.
Behind this open door is where I'll find my support
When life is the judge when you take me to court
Beyond the open door is where I'll run
It is there I'll know my journey has begun.
When you realize your castle is merely a part of my country,
It will all fall down so despicably bluntly
Locked behind an open door is where I'll fleetingly sit.
But in my castle, you will not fit
