The Lone Spartan

A lone spartan stood on a hill The path behind him Lay his foes A monument to his sins The path before him was uncertain A testament to the fates His body, worn from endless challenges Begged him to stop and rest Yet he still pushed on Recalling all he had done Memories of a life the could have, but never was As each challenge passed His body became more weary Still he pushed on Holding on to the hope Hope that one day it would would all be over Hope that one day he would rise out of the abyss Hope that the end would mean a new begging Thus the spartan charged on Drawing any strength he had left to finish his battle For he knew that one day he would be able to reside in the fields of Elysium
