The Lone Tree

During every season, I see you standing tall

Through winter, summer, spring and fall

For some reason you seem oh so different from other trees

You stand isolated and alone with only your pretty green leaves.

Others do not care for they would cut you down in an instant

But to me you are not a tool and within you I see innocence

I believe us to be alike in a way, both you and me

We stand strong, calm and quite, much like the soothing sea.

I can’t see a world at all without plants such as you

Some see you as useless, but this could never be true!

For you release oxygen and provide us with fresh air

And whenever I needed a shaded place of comfort, you were there

You stand full of life and truly symbolize nature

Sometimes I find myself staring at you nearly frozen like a glacier

And when us humans leave this earth and move onto the next place

You will still be standing tall, living even longer with your grace.
