Lone Wolf in Disguise
By day, she was happy/ No one could bring her down/ Nothing could damper her day/ She could lift anyone up/ She was always cracking jokes/ Making people laugh/ She would do anything for her friends and family/ She would give up her day to talk to someone who was hurting/ She would spend hours on the computer or phone just to brighten someone’s day/ She could motivate anyone/ She was easy-going, not very vocally opinionated/ She did everything possible to make people happy/ Even if it meant to remove herself from the picture/ But what people didn’t know/ By night, she was a completely different person/ By night, she wasn’t happy/ Everything brought her down/ She drowned in her thoughts/ Her mind was tearing her heart apart/ She was failing at school/ She struggled with depression/ By night, her true feelings surfaced/ The numbness takes over/ Her body in physical pain all day and night/ Her mistakes consumed her mind/ She was pushing everyone above water, while she was drowning/ She could not motivate herself to do anything/ What people didn’t know/ While she was their cure/ They were her disease/ Killing her slowly/ She was the wolf/ Who starved herself to make sure the pack was fed/ She was a lone wolf in disguise.
