loneliness

It would be quite rude

If I would dare to say I was lonely

For every night when rest my head

I am greeted by emptiness

and he lies beside me

and wraps his arms around me

until I feel as if my lungs might collapse

how dare I say I’m lonely

when disappointment kisses my forehead

and fills my mind with memories and mistakes

she makes a comfortable home in the head I cannot control

What a child I am to say I’m lonely

How could  I forget?

Misery tucks me in every night

and wakes me in the morning

I’m not lonely

just overwhelmed by company
