Lonely
Being lonely is like being out in the cold woods at night, lost.
There’s no one around but you, with your aching thoughts and your shivering body.
All while trying desperately to find your way to a home that you’re not sure even exists.
There are glimmers of light you see from the corner of your eye and they are what keep you going.
They keep you going until you finally stumble upon a cabin with the window lit up and a blanket on the couch waiting to warm you from the night you feared would never end.
I’m still waiting to find my light and for it to say “Where have you been? I was afraid you’d never find me.”
