The Lonely Candle

Once upon a time, there was a candle that sat on a shelf in a dark room.

It was alone on one side of the room.

On the other side, other candles sat on their shelves. With flames on their heads. Bright and beautiful.

They were so happy. Dancing with those flames on their heads.

The candle was so sad... it was worried that it would never find its flame... never find happiness.. or even deserved happiness

Then one day, a flame came.

It was beautiful.

Bright blue.. unlike any other flame in the room. It danced and lit up the one side of the room all by itself!

It didn't need help from other flames. The candle was impressed by this flame.. and it wanted this flame. But it was scared- It was scared that it's small wick, and its other flaws would scare away the flame and that flame would find another home on top of another candle.

But the flame came over to the lonely candle. It danced and smiled. Making the candle laugh and be happy.

Be happy for the first time in forever.

The flame told the candle some very useful things.

First, everyone has their own path.. those other candles started their journey before you but it doesn't mean you won't have a journey.

Second, the flame would stay till the end of time.. till the candle ran out of wax and wick.

Third, the flame would keep the candle warm

Fourth, since the flame sat upon its head, it could always listen to the candle. No matter if the discussion was sad, angry, happy or anything else.

The flame would not leave.. because it loved the candle.

At first, the candle was fearful... fearful because it didn't think it deserved such an amazing flame.

That if anything.. it didn't deserve to have a flame to stay till the end, keep it warm, or listen

That since it was placed by itself on that one shelf on the other side of the room... it was a sign to be alone.

But the flame was tempting. It was gorgeous. One of a kind and it sure was the light at the end of the tunnel for the candle

So now.. the candle let down its walls...it bent down to allow the flame to climb up on its head.

At first it was strange. It was warm and comfortable.

There was no longer darkness that surrounded the candle..but light.

The candle felt happy. Deep in its heart. Warmth..

No matter the day, the disagreements, or emotions.. the flame stayed . It stayed and listened.

It did what it said it would..

The candle and flame lived happily ever after

On top that shelf on that one side of the room. Surrounded by love, warmth, and light. ❤
