Lonely Child

The child in the corner

That’s what I was

Crying in the corner

But nobody cared, after all

I was the kid in the corner

Who gave a damn

My parents would ask

But I would never tell

Nothing was wrong I was just alone

Shy

Unable to speak without a stutter

I hoped for the light at the end of the tunnel

But day after day

I was the kid in the corner

Ignored by all

Not ever to be spoken

Words not ever to be heard

Sitting alone

Outside

The gentle winds of the lakes effect

blowing my hair to and fro

With a pen and some paper

I sit and write

What I wish my life would really be like

A social butterfly

Friends everywhere

Who are there for me

No awkward silences, no stuttering

and most of all no more crying

But that's not the case

I sit here alone

Just pen and paper

With the gentle winds of the lakes effect blowing my hair
