Lonely in a crowd
Why do I have to be gay or straight,
Why do I have to be black or white,
and why do I have to lable myself as anything?
What I am is caring, honorable, and hardworking.
The list goes on but after I check a box stating my sexuality,
You will automatically look at me differently.
Checking boxes makes it seems as though we have to take a side.
What if i want to take the side of every person in this country?
Then what? Am I wrong because I don't wanna check a box,
Because I don't want to limit the possibilities in my life.
My advice...dont let them comfine you to a box,
You are more than your ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation.
You are more than a check in a box.
