The Lonely Duckling

Oh lonely duckling, oh lonely duckling it was not your fault

You were abandoned by your mother’s default

She was but a lonely duckling herself you see

She was not ready to be the mother of thee

You were lonely because of her mistake

You should have never been left because your skin flakes

Oh lonely duckling can’t you see you are something amazing that she could not handle

She had to leave you because you were proof that she was once a lonely duckling herself

You may have grown up lonely, ugly, afraid, and confused but don’t you see

You my duckling are strong, brave, confident, fearless because of your mother's mistake

You my duckling grew through the obstacles in your life that were not placed there by your own doing

You my duck are successful and you know how to love someone through pain and tragedy

You have a family with your own little ducklings and you love them very much

You see my duck you are no longer ‘the lonely duckling’
