The Lonely Poem

I’m trapped

Trapped in a cage with no bars

Without lock or key

This is the fate that befalls me

To be isolated and forlorn

From others I will be torn

I’m alone in a sandy desert

Standing in the dunes as the world crumbles

Out in a storm as the thunder rumbles

While lightning strikes the ground

And it is empty all around

Alone I stand

And all is silent

The wind whispers by

The only sound in this lonely abyss

And gas leaks from a pipe at a petrol station nearby

Making the memorable faint hiss

Unknown and Unheard

Nobody hears my mumbled words

In this hallway of broken bonds

Where there is nobody with which to correspond

Where all my friends have left and gone

And why is what I’m thinking on.

In this realm of lost dreams

Where none hear my silent screams

I have left

I am hollow

And none shall remember me

My existence here is like a fleeting wind

Quickly passing by before floating away, forgotten.
