Lonely Road Through School
I walk on not knowing,
Not clue where this road is going.
The worn down, gray asphalt beneath my feet,
As I travel on this lonely fall morning.
My legs continue moving this abandon road.
The wind is blowing,
Dirt being scattered in all directions across the empty field to my left,
Yet my eagerness to travel this lonesome, dusty road was only growing.
My nose starts running as do my legs,
I just want to get away from everything and to the end of this empty road.
Should I continue on my journey or should I stop?
I look to my left and see an abandon gas station and tire shop,
Most likely had a packed business years ago.
Am I going to be a follower or am I going to continue on this clear road to find myself?
I keep moving along, the worn down asphalt beneath my feet.
No one is watching me, I can be myself.
I start to feel like I am closer to the end,
The end is nearing and I know it.
I take off sprinting with glee.
I know now, that I am free.
