Long Black Train
It’s like a train coming straight to kill
There’s no way to avoid it, I just stood still
The blow was too much and I spilled all over the gravel
My body mangled and my mind unraveled
No blinking lights or warning sign
Just a train heading in a straight line
The conductor wouldn’t stop, he pays no care
He just grimaces with a sinister stare
Disaster all around as far as I can see
Why did this have to happen to me?
Tears flow and collect at my feet
I gather myself and take a seat
I look across to see my mother
And next to her my weeping brother
As we hold each other on this tragic night
I hear my mother whisper “don’t worry, I’ll fight”
If I could change one thing it would be to give cancer a face
One I could fight, one I could disgrace
Instead it stays hidden and hides like a coward
Afraid of exposure and being overpowered
If cancer was an enemy that all of us could fight
Millions would be coming together over night
So yes this change would be my final answer
Because everyone can agree—FUCK CANCER!
